CORRECTION: A previous version of this story quoted information from DeKalb County Police that said the body was found at a club next door to Club 426. The deceased’s name has also been corrected.

An off-duty officer found a man shot to death in his car outside a popular DeKalb nightclub early Sunday morning, police confirmed.

Agala Dwayne Samuels, 30, was sitting in “his truck with multiple gunshot wounds in his torso,” when the officer spotted him in a parking lot near The Atrium and Club 426 on Memorial Drive, DeKalb County police Sgt. J.D. Spencer told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in an email.

The officer was working at a club located in the 5200 block of Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain when he heard gunshots at the back of the club, Spencer said.

Samuels was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No suspects have been identified in the case.
