Norcross officials held a special called public hearing Monday to consider a resolution, order and petition for condemnation for property owned by Vosamis Properties LLC at 5735 Buford Highway. The city needs the two-acre lot near Buford Highway for the construction of a public library and public parking for Downtown Norcross.
The city has offered to assist current tenants of the Plaza Latina to find new locations for their businesses. The Norcross City Council voted unanimously Monday night to proceed with the condemnation process to require the owner to sell after the city’s $1.5 million offer to buy the parcel was declined. Tenants of the Plaza Latina will be provided with a timeline for their move in the near future.
