DeKalb County recently approved giving federal money to two nonprofit groups in the county that work with the homeless.

The county received about $2.4 million in stimulus money in 2009 to provide financial assistance and services to either prevent homelessness or to help those who are to be rapidly put into shelters.

The county spread about $2.3 million of that money to 14 different agencies two years ago.

The county recently sent another $97,000 to Decatur Cooperative Ministry and Nicholas House as part of the program for 2011.
