Students returning to class next week at Crabapple Lane Elementary School in Fayetteville will have a newly completed learning space to explore.

A custom-designed area called The Nest was specially designed with input from a committee formed by Principal Margaret Davis and Assistant Principal Erin Yocom, consisting of students, former students, teachers and parents. The former commons area now includes a touch-screen SMART TV and 32 virtual reality goggles, as well as a Lego lab and a Makerspace that provides hands-on lessons in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

During a reception held just before the holiday break, Superintendent Joseph Barrow said the school had done “a wonderful job in creating a space that is unique to the needs of your students.”
