Decatur’s school board will likely make official the appointment of David Dude as the district’s 10th superintendent during a special session, 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Central Office/Beacon Municipal Center, 125 Electric Avenue.
It is expected Dude will also sign his contract Monday.
The board will probably make official the last day for Phyllis Edwards, who’s required by contract to remain for a two-week transition period after Dude’s arrival. Tentatively Dude will begin Nov. 2 and Edwards, who became superintendent July 1, 2003, will finish Nov. 13.
Edwards and staff met Dude for the first time last week during the Decatur Education Foundation’s annual fundraiser Boil & Brew.
