The motorcyclist who was hit by a car and run over by another vehicle last week in Cobb County continues to fight for his life while police work to track down the driver of the second car involved in the crash.
Dylan Threewitt, 27, of Canton was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with critical injuries following Thursday’s collision on Bells Ferry Road at Shallowford Road in Kennesaw.
His passenger, Kayli McGaha, 25, was also injured in the crash. McGaha told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Threewitt has been in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit since late last week. Doctors wanted to do a CT scan on the Canton resident, but have to wait until pressure on his brain subsides.
According to Cobb police, a disabled 1999 Harley Davidson XL1200 motorcycle operated by Threewitt was stopped around 9:31 p.m. June 13 in the left northbound lane on Bells Ferry Road when a silver Toyota Sienna crashed into the back of the motorcycle.
Threewitt was knocked off the Harley and run over by a second vehicle that was also traveling northbound. Cobb police said that second vehicle, which was identified by witnesses as a small, dark-colored SUV, stopped briefly, but left the scene. The driver of the Toyota Sienna was not injured.
McGaha, who was on the bike at the time of the crash, said the force of the first collision also threw her off the bike. However, she landed in the middle of the roadway, and was not hit by the second car. The Marietta woman told the AJC that Cobb officers continue to investigate the three-car crash.

Cobb police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Delk said officers are still working to identify the driver of the second vehicle.
Threewitt’s family is “very blessed” by the number of people who’ve reached out to see if they could help in this time of need, McGaha said. However, she said the family wants nothing but prayers for Threewitt.
“He’s a fighter, and we know God can hear him,” she said of Threewitt. “We have not been discouraged. We’re just blessed to be alive and he’s going to pull through it.”
Anyone who has information about the second vehicle involved in the collision is asked to call Cobb County police at 770-499-3987.
