Fayette County Public Schools says its efforts to clean up mold at Peachtree City’s Huddleston Elementary are showing success.

Facilities Director Mike Satterfield updated the Board of Education Monday, noting that the school’s HVAC units and ducts have been thoroughly cleaned. Caulking and drainage repairs have reduced humidity levels to the normal 55-57 percent range.

Recent air quality tests throughout the building showed that “spore counts were within acceptable levels,” Satterfield said.

Monitoring will continue, and the entire HVAC system will be replaced in 2016.
