An Athens boy who was the focus of a three-month kidnapping investigation has been found safe.

Kevin Adam Viskup, 12, was found in the Canary Islands last weekend with his natural father, the Athens Banner-Herald reported Wednesday.

“We want to get him home as quickly as possible, but it’s not an emergency now,” the boy’s stepfather, Creighton Cutts, told the newspaper.

Kevin’s father, Peter Viskup, was wanted on a warrant charging him with international parental kidnapping after taking Kevin out of the country in July.

Kevin’s mother, Andrea Cutts, has legal custody of the boy.

Kevin was described as “tired and confused, but OK,” Cutts told the Banner-Herald.
