Four defendants have pleaded guilty in federal court in Atlanta for trying to bribe an immigration employee to alter their criminal histories so they could avoid deportation, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Rotana Khov, 34, of Atlanta; Pisa Phosai, 34, of McDonough; Hing Bun, 42, of Riverdale; and Voeun Lim, 26, of Charlotte, now face prison before deportation. In August 2010, Phosai offered to bribe an immigration official to alter his records, but the official reported the offer and an investigation ensnared the other defendants, prosecutors said.
