Fayetteville’s new Downtown Planning Committee has its inaugural roster of members.

The City Council confirmed the appointments 5-0 at its April 4 meeting. Created by a new city ordinance, the committee will develop and update the long-range plan for Fayetteville’s central district. It consists of three council members (Kathaleen Brewer, Rich Hoffman and Scott Stacy) as well as Shonte Walton from the Main Street Tourism Association and Sam Burch from the Downtown Development Authority. Community members representing citizens and/or local businesses are Butch Anthony, Kansas Bayly, Wendy Brunet, Pearline Greene, Winford Hendrix, James Key, Lauren Panter, Jennifer Parlier, Marilyn Taylor and Megan Trocquet.

Each will serve an initial term of one year, after which the city will decide what permanent terms will be. Meetings begin this month.
