The Simpsonwood Steering Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Simpsonwood United Methodist Church, 4500 Jones Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners. The steering committee is expected to discuss a recently completed online survey seeking input on the types of amenities desired by the community. The public is not invited to speak at this event, but a group calling themselves “Save Simpsonwood” is encouraging attendance.

Gwinnett purchased Simpsonwood last year with plans to preserve the 223-acre property as an open space park. The property is predominantly forested with hardwood and evergreen trees with about 2,140 linear feet of river frontage along the Chattahoochee River.

Save Simpsonwood activists will meet 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the front of the Simpsonwood Great Meadow to discuss strategies for preserving the area.

The steering committee will hold a public meeting with preliminary master plan graphics on June 30.
