Lilburn’s efforts to redevelop the city’s center continue with the realignment of Main Street. The reconfigured Main Street is designed create a safer, more traditional intersection at Lawrenceville Highway/US 29.

The first of two roundabouts at Church Street and the intersection at Main Street and US 29 are now open. Relocation of utility lines has delayed construction of the second roundabout. The new Main Street from US 29 to Norman Drive should be open by January with all the finishing touches completed by March.

From Norman Drive to the railroad tracks on Main Street, utility construction will continue at Velva Way on Jan. 1, Maurice Drive and US 29 on Jan. 12, Terry Lane Jan. 15, Pine Street on Jan. 26, and Velva Court on Feb. 3.
