Loganville recently announced Assistant Fire Marshal Captain Tim Johnson as the city’s interim fire chief.
Johnson replaces Carl Morrow, who recently tendered his resignation as chief after serving in that position since July 1, 2017.
“We want to thank Chief Morrow for more than two decades of service to the citizens of Loganville with our fire department,” City Manager Danny Roberts said. “We certainly wish him the best on his future.”
Johnson has been a firefighter for almost 25 years, beginning his career as a volunteer with the Loganville Fire Department. Full-time since 2007, he was promoted to lieutenant on truck 15 before eventually accepting a position in the city’s fire marshal’s office, where he serves as captain and assistant fire marshal. Johnson was also named the Georgia Fire Sprinkler Association’s Official of the Year in 2014.
