This year makes a decade of Kennesaw State University's Star-Spangled Spectacular and Family Fun Festival.
The free July 1 event features a Campus Green concert by the music department followed by fireworks, the school announced Monday.
Child-friendly activities like inflatables, games, face-painting and balloon artists, along with a variety of food trucks all begin at 5 p.m., and all in the spirit of July Fourth.
The concert starts at 8 p.m. with performance by KSU Big Band and the KSU Summer Orchestra — comprised of students, alumni and faculty from the music department, as well as, Georgia Symphony Orchestra members.
Look skyward at 9:30 p.m. for the fireworks show.
Lawn chairs, blankets, picnics and coolers are allowed.
Parking is free at any of the campus lots, but visitors are encouraged to park in the Central Parking Deck accessible from Frey Road.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be held the next day, school officials said.
