Kennesaw rezoning, variance under review

The Kennesaw City Council will hold public hearings on rezoning and variance requests on Oct. 7 and 19.

These requests first will be reviewed by the city’s Planning Commission at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 2529 J.O. Stephenson Ave., then by the City Council for final decisions at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19, also in the Council Chambers.

A styling hair studio is being proposed by Mehri Ghavamian, requiring a rezoning from Office/Institutional to Neighborhood Shopping District on nearly an acre.

Mark Pisano is requesting a variance to allow for use of crushed rock as the required parking surface material in the city’s Historic District.
