It was announced this week that Kennesaw will get a $3,500 federal grant for the development of a historic district brochure. The city is one of 10 Georgia communities to receive such grants for 2011. A total of $77,280 in grants was awarded this year through the Historic Preservation Fund from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s National Park Service. The money can be used for a variety of preservation activities, including archaeological and
historic resource surveys, National Register nominations and education programs.
