Kathy Greenlee, assistant secretary for aging for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, will address the importance of preventive health for senior citizens during a visit to Atlanta on Tuesday.

Greenlee will meet with senior citizens and tour Senior Connections' kitchen and offices to learn more about home- and community-based services. Senior Connections has teamed up with the Atlanta Regional Commission to offer  preventive health services and screenings this fall. The Sickness Prevention Achieved through Regional Collaboration (SPARC) event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  at 5238 Peachtree Road in Chamblee. Greenlee will speak at 9:30 a.m. Other speakers will be Burrell Ellis, CEO of DeKalb County; and Debra Furtado, CEO, Senior Connections.

The event is free and open to people ages 65 and older.
