Johns Creek City Council voted unanimously to purchase an existing office building in Technology Park to consolidate its city departments.
The city plans to renovate the 75,000-square-foot building, which sits on 7 acres at 11360 Lakefield Drive near LifeTime Fitness, according to a Thursday news release.
The move would put City Hall and the police and fire departments under one roof.
Johns Creek has a about a 45-day window to close the $9,409,125 deal. The city expects to close the transaction in February, but an exact timeline for the move is undetermined.
Mayor Mike Bodker said he and the council are excited about the purchase.
“This will be one of the most significant moves we have made in the city’s 10 years of existence, and one that we believe can propel us to even greater heights in terms of service to the residents of Johns Creek,” Bodker said.
