Johns Creek residents will have a chance to weigh in on a proposed roundabout at Barnwell Road and Rivermont Parkway at a community input meeting in December.

The meeting is to start at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Park Place, 3125 Old Alabama Road (inside Newtown Park).

City staff will presented a concept design for a roundabout to address safety and traffic flow issues, and residents will be invited to give feedback, according to a city announcement. The roundabout is one of several proposed improvements for the Barnwell corridor, to be funded by $1.5 million in TSPLOST monies.

"Barnwell Road is a 2.5-mile, two-lane collector roadway that has several safety issues, such as narrow lanes and shoulders, poor sight distance at many intersections, motorists exceeding the speed limit, and a lack of pedestrian access (no sidewalks or trails) along more than one-half of the corridor," according to a city web page.
