The Johns Creek City Council has given its parks consultant the go-ahead to add the recently acquired Quail Hollow property and its 58 acres to the master planning for the 140-acre Cauley Creek Park.

Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon Inc. engineers and architects will be paid an additional $57,588 for the combined Cauley Creek/Quail Hollow Park master plan. The change will be funded by the parks bond approved by voters last November.

“The revised scope of services engages the entire community in a planning effort to master plan the 200-acre park,” according to a memo to the council by City Manager Warren Hutmacher. “The final master plan, with community input, will be brought to City Council for authorization to proceed with construction documents in several months.”

The city acquired Quail Hollow in August, and the Cauley Creek property, in 2016. The two parcels will form the largest city park in Johns Creek. Both properties are along the Chattahoochee River near the Abbotts Bridge Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.
