An inaugural concert series to promote up-and-coming jazz artists will be held in Atlanta over the next six months.

City officials announced this week that the Emerging Jazz Icon series will host three shows between November and April, leading up to the 41st Atlanta Jazz Festival in May.

The series will feature the following artists:

• Charenee Wade on Nov. 4

• Jazzmeia Horn on Jan. 27

• Christian Sands on April 7

The concerts will take place at the Woodruff Arts Center’s Rich Auditorium, located at 1280 Peachtree St. NE, from 8 to 10 p.m.

Tickets are on sale for $41 a show through the box office or by calling 404-733-5000.

The series is organized by the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, in partnership with Public Broadcasting Atlanta and the Woodruff Arts Center.
