A Suwanee family was displaced Monday after fire destroyed their house in the 4600 block of Arbor Crest Place.
A male resident of the home called 911 around 5:30 a.m., reporting that there was a fire on the main level and he was getting his wife and children out. Firefighters knocked down the fire within about 40 minutes. The house sustained heavy damage to the first and second floors as well as the attic.
Fire investigators said the blaze appeared accidental, and originated in the area of a clothes dryer in the laundry room. The displaced residents were being helped by family and friends, said Gwinnett fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge.
