Hiram has a new downtown look and infrastructure after more than a $3 million investment and a year of work.

Water and sewer lines, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, street lights and paving are all new.

The Main Street Improvement Project affected Main Street from Highway 92 on the southwest end to Arnold Lane on the northeast end and sections of South 40 east and west.

Hiram Mayor Teresa Philyaw said the new streetscape, after many years, connects the Silver Comet Trailhead with downtown for walkers or bikers as well as drivers.
