A commercial rezoning for a seven-acre site on Hwy. 81 W. in Hampton was approved unanimously at the March 19 regular meeting of the Henry County Board of Commissioners.

Also approved in a separate motion was an amendment of the county’s Future Land Use Map consistent with the new zoning. The owner of the property told the board that he plans to sell it for future development. It was formerly zoned for multi-family residential use.

The vote to approve the rezoning included a condition that truck parking would be prohibited as a use on the site.
