A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver early Friday morning in Gwinnett County, police said.
Police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter said the accident happened at Britt Road near Jimmy Carter Blvd., where traffic is clearing up.
The accident happened around 5 a.m., according to traffic reports.
Investigators are on the scene interviewing the driver to learn the cause of the accident.
A wrecker towed away a white pick-up truck with damage to the driver's side windshield.
The victim has not been identified.
This is the third traffic fatality reported in the metro Atlanta area Friday.
A motorist was killed around 3:30 a.m., in a multiple-car accident on I-85 southbound south of Pleasant Hill Road.
And authorities in in Bartow County are investigating a separate vehicle fatality from 1:30 a.m., Friday on I-75 northbound at Redtop Mountain Road.
