Governor Nathan Deal has appointed veteran Georgia peace officer John B. Edwards to the board of the Georgia Department of Juvenile. Edwards, who retired after 30 years as Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent, is a chief deputy with the Evans County Sheriff's Office who serves on the Executive Board of the Peace Officers Association of Georgia. He is an author and former adjunct at the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College. His appointment will be confirmed at the next meeting of the DJJ board.
