Yes, spring cleaning means the annual dusting of the fan blades (how does all that stuff get up there?!). But there’s something else you should remember to nix: expired medication.
But don’t flush them down the toilet — thus contaminating lakes, streams and groundwater. Nor should you throw them in the trash because they could be accidentally ingested.
Keep Cobb Beautiful is holding a medication disposal event Saturday, April 28, the county said.

Staff and police will be there to collect medications and properly dispose of them in compliance with federal law. The meds don’t have to be removed from containers and the labels also don’t have to be removed.
They are accepting prescription and over-the-counter liquid and pills, ointments, patches, creams, vials. They won’t accept needles/sharps or nebulizers.
The event will be April 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cobb police precinct one, 2380 Cobb Parkway NW in Kennesaw.
Staff won’t accept meds before or after that day.
