Gas prices in Georgia are 19 cents higher than a week ago as turmoil in Libya continues to put pressure on the oil market.

The average price of regular unleaded is $3.28 in Georgia; the national average is $3.35.

Metro Atlanta's average of $3.29 is 29 cents higher than a month ago.

The price of a barrel of oil has spiked 18 percent in the last 10 days. Fighting in Libya between Moammar Gadhafi's loyalists and opposition forces has disrupted the country's usual supply of 1.6 million barrels of crude a day. The bigger fear, experts say, is that unrest could spread to larger oil-producing countries like Saudi Arabia.

"Oil and retail gas prices are forecast to rise again this week as the unrest continues in the Mideast," AAA spokeswoman Jessica Brady said.

Crude oil settled Friday at $97.88 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange -- $11.68 more than a week earlier.

Gas prices rose 23 cents in Florida last week, 21 cents in Tennessee.
