A former Fulton County Jail detention officer pleaded guilty to participating in a plot with an inmate’s girlfriend to smuggle drugs and other contraband into the facility.

Selener Moss, 38, admitted guilt to 11 charges, including possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, procuring prohibited items for an inmate and violation of oath by a public officer, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.

Moss was accused of conspiring with 23-year-old Syedah Hill in November 2009 to smuggle marijuana into the jail for Hill’s boyfriend, Abraham Myton. Hill put marijuana, prescription pills and other contraband into a fast food container and left it in Moss’ car in the parking lot to be retrieved by the officer later, prosecutors said. Moss then asked a jail trustee to pass the container to Myton, 25. However, the suspicious trustee opened the package and notified jail officials, leading to Moss’ termination from her job, officials said.

Moss was sentenced to four years’ probation, as was Hill, who pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Previously, while Myton was locked up in Ware County, Hill was convicted on a drug possession charge after pleading guilty to smuggling drugs in to him there, authorities said.

Myton is charged with criminal attempt to possess marijuana with intent to distribute in the Fulton incident. His trial is pending.
