Georgia Department of Transportation officials have installed a four-way stop at the intersection of Hwy. 20 and Turner Church Road on the east side of McDonough, and more traffic control measures are on the way.

Local residents have complained often of late about the dangers of the intersection, with accidents occurring sometimes more than once a day. Rumble strips have been constructed on the highway to alert motorists of the upcoming stop, and a traffic light system is expected to be implemented during the first quarter of 2020, according to state officials.

The long-term plan for the intersection is a roundabout that is likely a couple of years away.
