A pair of Forsyth County intersections are being given honorary names after action by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners, GDOT and the Georgia General Assembly.

The intersection of Ga. 306 and Ga. 369 in northern Forsyth has been named Hammond’s Crossing, honoring a local philanthropic family that’s done business there since 1897. In addition, the juncture of Ga. 9 and Ga. 369 just north of Cumming has been dubbed the Coal Mountain Intersection, which officials said has been a business hub and point of trade for more than 200 years.
