A former member of the Peachtree City Water & Sewerage Authority board is suing the current board members for an alleged breach of meeting protocol. John Dufresne filed a lawsuit in Fayette County Superior Court on Feb. 2 against Mayor Vanessa Fleisch and City Council members Terry Ernst, Mike King, Kevin Madden and Phil Prebor, who legally took control of WASA last summer. Dufresne claims the new board violated Georgia’s open meetings law when it met in executive session on Nov. 5, 2018 to discuss a change in WASA employee health benefits that increased the employees’ costs. Fleisch said the board cannot comment on pending litigation.
