The final two Atlanta Streetcar vehicles will be delivered today and Wednesday.

The third and fourth vehicles will be delivered to the Atlanta Streetcar maintenance facility on Fort Street between Edgewood Street and Auburn Avenue beginning at about 10 a.m. each morning, according to Sharon Gavin, a spokeswoman for the Atlanta Streetcar.

The Siemen’s S70 vehicles were built in Sacramento. They are 80 feet long, weigh 96,000 pounds, and can accommodate about 200 passengers. The interior is designed to accommodate wheelchairs using wide passenger doors that are level with the station platforms. The streetcars also have substantial standing room.

In addition, each vehicle can accommodate bikes and strollers.

City officials say they will begin testing the vehicles on the tracks in coming weeks. The streetcar system will launch sometime later this summer, if all goes as planned.
