Fayette County recreation committee needs new members

Fayette County is accepting applications for two positions on its Recreation Commission.

The five-member volunteer board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Recreation Activities Building at 980 Redwine Road in Fayetteville. The group reviews and evaluates programs, facilities, polices and related matters and makes recommendations to the Recreation Department, county administrator and county commission concerning capital and operational needs. The open seats are for an unexpired term that begins immediately and expires March 31, 2020, and a second term that begins Jan. 1, 2019 and ends Dec. 31, 2022.

Applications are available at www.fayettecountyga.gov and must be submitted by Nov. 16.
