New owners have given a popular Sandy Springs gaming bar an extra life.
Battle and Brew, nestled at 5920 Roswell Road, announced it would be closing last month. On Sunday, folks who worked and went there thought it had closed its doors for the final time.
But on Tuesday the bar took to social media to put out good news: Battle and Brew had been purchased by new owners and will reopen soon.

Some thought Battle and Brew was fooling its customers and trying to "drive up business" by "pretending" it was closed, but the bar insisted that wasn't true and responded to one Facebook commenter by saying, "Until early this morning, everyone outside of the owner was under the impression the bar was closed. There was no pretending."
The response on social media was enormous. The Facebook post was shared 644 times, liked more than 1,700 times and had several hundred comments by Thursday afternoon. A similar tweet sent by the bar had 430 likes and more than 100 retweets on Thursday.
The bar said on Facebook that more details would be available soon.

Battle and Brew's website says that the bar remains temporarily closed. A call by the AJC to the listed number for the bar went unanswered. The new owners have not been identified and a reopen date has not been set.
The bar was open to all folks who were older than 18 and featured table games, console and PC gaming, events, a full menu and drinks. It first opened in Marietta in 2005, and moved to Sandy Springs in 2015.
Battle and Brew was set to pull the plug on its operation, but it seems that it is just hitting the reset button instead.
