In the city council meeting scheduled for June 8, the East Point Police Department will officially request a Body-Worn Camera Pilot Implementation Protection grant. The police will also request an Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice grant, used for funding protective equipment for police. The grants are awarded by the U.S. Justice Department. East Point residents are encouraged to attend and contribute to the hearing. Other items on the agenda for the meeting include a public hearing for a rezoning request to change property along several streets — Ashley Way, R.N.
