The Duluth City Council voted recently to reappoint Charles L. Barrett, III as the Chief Judge/Court Administrator for the City of Duluth Municipal Court.

The municipal court adjudicates cases of alleged violations of local ordinances and some state laws. The court is headed by the Chief Judge and Court Administrator and assisted by Court staff. According to the city’s website, “It is the court’s mission to provide efficient, fair resolution of all matters coming before it, and to ensure that all Court users are afforded ready access to the Court.”

Municipal courts are the largest class of courts in Georgia, managing almost a million cases annually.
