In the past week, Duluth police officers have rescued and arrested a drunk driver stuck over the railroad tracks near downtown, searched for a missing teen, and worked to inform the public on ways to remain safe during this state of emergency.

All important tasks, but another recent rescue has made everyone smile during this stressful time. Officers from Duluth’s traffic unit recently rescued a duck and her ducklings after some of the feathery creatures fell through a sewer drain while trying to cross Pleasant Hill Road. Officers worked together with the help of some nearby businesses to rescue all the ducklings.

Afterwards, officers successfully released mother and ducklings to a safer nearby lake.

Duluth police would like to thank employees at Banfield Pet Hospital and Firestone Tires for their help.
