Duluth was recently awarded a Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Award for its efforts to make the city more walkable.

The award was given to Duluth because of the Davenport Road Project, which was completed in July on a one-half mile section along Davenport from Buford Highway to the city limits at Bromley Rowe. The project added a curb, gutter, drainage, repaving and new sidewalks.

The City Council will be presented with the award on Monday.
