Duluth’s Community Development Director is asking the city council to consider adding an assistant city engineer position. This position would be a 60/40 split between the Planning Division and the Stormwater Division. The adopted FY16 Budget includes a position that would be converted to the requested engineering position. This change along with salary sharing from stormwater will result in no impact to the city’s current budget.
With the amount of projects to manage in engineering and the entire stormwater program, Duluth does not want to compromise its level of service to the community or jeopardize future funding.
The City Council has authorized advertising for the position and to include it in the developing FY17 budget and will place the item on the March 14 council agenda for official vote.
