Lillie Cox, the one-time front-runner to lead DeKalb Schools, was hired Monday as superintendent of Alamance-Burlington Schools, a North Carolina district where she used to work. The Alamance-Burlington Board of Education said they voted unanimously to hire Cox to run the 23,000-student district. Her new job begins July 1.
