DeKalb County schools have until Oct. 31 to make changes or risk sanctions from its national accreditation board, but interim superintendent Ramona Tyson told the Board of Education that a draft report is expected by Sept. 1 with the intent to submit the final report to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools by Oct. 1. DeKalb, which has the state's third largest  school district, was put on notice last year that it could lose its accreditation over issues of its governance, including a financial scandal over a former superintendent.
