The Forsyth County Democrat Party is sponsoring an International Day of Peace observance at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 on the square in Cumming. Participants will march on the sidewalk to City Hall. There will be a short program, which includes Mayor Ford Gravitt and the City Council reading a proclamation in honor of the event.

The International Day of Peace is a non-political event crossing all boundaries and divisions, said Sharon Gunter, Democrat chair.
