The 20-year-old accused of stabbing a man to death at a Cobb County graduation party held a knife to another man's neck 15 minutes earlier, according to his arrest warrant.

Lintrel Dshun Gibert, of Dallas, was charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault when he was arrested late Saturday on Conrad Court, just outside of Laurel Park in Marietta, police said. Gibert was at a graduation party at the park when he got into verbal arguments with two men around 11 p.m., according to police.

The first man was not injured. Reached Monday morning, he declined to speak about the incident.

“During the disagreement, the accused produced a knife from his person and waved it in the face of the victim,” the warrant states. “The accused then got close to the victim and put the knife against the victim’s neck, placing the victim in fear of bodily harm or death.”

About 15 minutes later, Gibert again pulled out his knife, this time stabbing John Benson several times in the upper torso, according to police. Benson, 36, of Dallas, died from his injuries at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

Gibert was identified as the suspect and arrested shortly before midnight. He was booked into the Cobb jail, where he was being held without bond late Monday morning.
