The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners last week approved road improvements near Archer High School in Lawrenceville.

Commissioners awarded a $769,361 contract to ISC Inc. for work on the north side of New Hope Road from the high school to Tribble Walk Drive. The work includes a new sidewalk, curb and gutter and drainage improvements. The work should be done by the beginning of the school year in August.

The contract also includes a rebuilt intersection at Grayson New Hope Road and Chandler Road, which should be completed next fall.
