The College Park Police Department and the city of College Park have recently begun working with federal lobbyists, The Ferguson Group, to offer solutions to what the city has considered a problem with crime statistical reporting. The officials have said the reports are inaccurate.

The city will soon be engaged with the Criminal Justice Information Services Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning this issue. They will propose policy changes to incorporate commuter-adjusted daytime population for municipalities and to modify supplemental crime rates.

Arrangements are underway to formally submit a proposal in the next few months, in time for consideration effective in 2016.
