The College Park Fire Department will be conducting its bi-annual fire hydrant inspection from Monday, April 1, through Saturday, April 6.

This process includes flushing all public fire hydrants to ensure clean water throughout the city. Although it may appear to waste water, testing hydrants is an important procedure that is part of a routine maintenance program necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system.

The Fire Department has delivered a public notice to all residents as this may affect water clarity during the flushing period, instructing everyone to run faucets for 3-5 minutes.
