Six Flags Over Georgia is determined to make visitors retch.

If the roller coasters don't stir your stomach then Saturday's planned cockroach-eating contest probably will.

According to a Six Flags press release, participants will receive free 2012 season passes if they are able to digest Madagascar hissing cockroaches. A park spokesman said they've done such contests before and have been assured by public health officials there is no danger in eating the insects.

The island inhabitants, among the largest species of cockroaches, are typically two to three inches long and weigh up to 22.7 grams, according to National Geographic. They are capable of eating a large carrot in a single day.

To some Asian cultures, the Madagascar hissers are considered a delicacy. We'll take their word for it.

The contest begins at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mariner’s Cove Theater.
