The Town Center Community Improvement District has been awarded the 2016 CREATE Community Award for Technology by the Atlanta Regional Commission for its Zagster Town Center Bike Share Program.

ARC recognized six local governments in six areas of innovation with Town Center CID as the only community improvement district to be honored.

Town Center CID launched the Zagster Town Center Bike Share Program in November.

Using the Zagster mobile app or text function, a user is able to unlock a bicycle at one of three bike stations.

The first hour of the ride is free, and each additional hour is $3.

Now the program has nearly 2,000 members who have logged more than 4,000 trips.

Each week the program averages more than 80 new members and 150 rides.
