The Cobb County Board of Education will conduct three public hearings on a property tax increase — even though the millage rate of 18.9 mills is expected to stay the same as it has been since 2011.

Hearings will be 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. July 20 in the Board Room, 514 Glover St., Marietta.

Board members are expected to take their final vote during their 9 a.m. meeting on July 20. Property taxes would increase by 7.55 percent by keeping this same millage rate. The annual anticipated tax increase for a house with a fair market value of $225,000 is about $106 and, for non‐homestead property with a fair market value of $325,000, around $172.
